Sophie visits the zoo

While visiting her grandparents in Richmond, Sophie got to wear her explorer hat and take a safari at the Richmond zoo. She got up close to the llamas and giraffes with her mommy, Aunt Leia, and Grandma Vergne. She was entertained by watching them feed the animals right out of their hands. Sophie also had a lot of fun playing with some borrowed toys at Grandma's house.

My baby takes the morning train....

Sophie and Paula went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Vergne in Richmond, VA, by train from Charleston on March 10. They enjoyed a long weekend with the grandparents while Matt attended a conference in Boston. Sophie had flown in an airplane several times, but this was her first train trip. Sophie enjoyed being able to move around while traveling, and she took a couple of naps during the 6 hour trip on the Amtrak train "Palmetto."

Sophie and Sidney

This past weekend, we got to visit some of our friends from Maryland, Brett, Stacy, and their 6 month-old daughter, Sidney. They are temporarily living in Augusta, GA; and we met them in Columbia, SC. Sophie and Sidney just happened to be wearing similar outfits (when we were taking pictures outside the restaurant people thought they were twins. Sophie enjoyed showing Sidney how to eat yummy foods like sweet potatoes, grean beans, and pears.

Picture Day with Sophie

These are a few of the pictures that were taken when Sophie was almost 10 months old. It was very hard to choose because there were several cute poses! It was also challenging to get Sophie to sit still for pictures =)!

Sophie's 1st snow

Over President's Day weekend, Sophie and Paula flew to Nashville to visit family & friends. On Saturday morning, they woke up to a winter wonderland. This was the first time Sophie had seen snow. We only stayed out for a few minutes because it was very cold! It was great to have a visit in Nashville and spend time with family and friends.

Will you be my valentine?

Sophie recieved several valentines. She loves to flip them over and over and put them in her mouth. Two days after Valentine's Day, Sophie started clapping her hands together. She loves to clap while watching the Olympics. Sophie and Paula are going to Nashville to visit Nana and PaPat this weekend. Sophie is looking forward to a good trip.
