Visiting Morgan at 3 weeks old

Abbie with cousin Morgan
Morgan and Abbie hanging out under his play mat.

A couple of days ago, Abbie and I drove up to Kentucky to visit Aunt Martha and cousin Morgan.  He's 3 weeks old now and we wanted to go for a visit.  Morgan slept for the first 1 1/2 to 2 hours after we arrived but then he was awake for a while.  Abbie was able to introduce him to his playmat for the first time.  Morgan is a sweet baby and Martha is a great mom!   Uncle Matt was in school that day so we didn't see him but we had a good visit.  Morgan had gained one pound since he was born and grown an inch.  We were glad that we could visit sweet little Morgan!

Abbie's 1st Day of Preschool

Abbie on the first day of preschool.

On the Wednesday after Labor Day Abbie (FINALLY) had her first day of preschool.  Can you sense my relief here? I was doing a little happy mama dance over here when her school started back.   I was pretty excited because although I enjoy having special times with my 4 year old, I've also had a growing list of projects that I'd like to complete.   Many of these projects would be easier without children in tow to help me.  Abbie's going to preschool 2 1/2 days a week this year and so far she seems to be off to a great start!  There's a much greater ratio of girls to boys in the class this year than last year.  Some of her friends are in her class also so seems to be a happy girl!  Abbie is in Ms. Gloria's class again and so she kind of already knows the routine and they get along well!

Bridging to Brownies

Several from Sophie's Brownie troop with their troop leader, Miss Carol.

Sophie and I as put on her sash.

A few weeks ago, we had a little ceremony at the park where the girls in Sophie's Girl Scout Daisy troop bridged to Brownies.  We were going to use a larger bridge that cars drive across on one side and have them walk on the little pedestrian bridge (not a busy road or anything but just a bridge that goes into a local park).  Anyway, someone realized that there was a little bridge on the playground so we used that instead for the bridging ceremony.  We celebrated with pizzas afterwards.
