Sophie's 1st snow

Over President's Day weekend, Sophie and Paula flew to Nashville to visit family & friends. On Saturday morning, they woke up to a winter wonderland. This was the first time Sophie had seen snow. We only stayed out for a few minutes because it was very cold! It was great to have a visit in Nashville and spend time with family and friends.

Will you be my valentine?

Sophie recieved several valentines. She loves to flip them over and over and put them in her mouth. Two days after Valentine's Day, Sophie started clapping her hands together. She loves to clap while watching the Olympics. Sophie and Paula are going to Nashville to visit Nana and PaPat this weekend. Sophie is looking forward to a good trip.

Sophie at 8-9 months old

Sophie loves playing with her new swingset (especially getting help to go down the little slide) that her Daddy found at a garage sale. She also enjoys crawling through her tunnel and playing peek-a-boo. As you can see, Sophie tries to get into all sorts of things so we have to watch her like a hawk. Above, Sophie is playing in her little play corral. She's 9 months old now (as of Feb 1) and she's still cruising on furniture. Her first tooth came in a couple of weeks ago.

Sophie's 1st Christmas (2005)

Over Christmas, we spent about one week in Nashville visiting Paula's family. Sophie got to meet Santa for the first time and he didn't seem to scare her at all! We had a great Christmas. It's a lot more fun with a little one around.

One of Sophie's favorite toys that she received was her Leap Frog Learning Table that Nana and Pappy Waggoner gave her. Right around Christmas, Sophie started crawling all over the place and pulling up to stand. Soon after, she started cruising along furniture as well. Grandma and Grandpa Vergne came to visit us in Charleston over New Year's weekend to celebrate Christmas.

New House

Here is a picture of our new house in Charleston, SC. We moved into our house in November 2005. We now have 3 bedrooms, 2 and half baths. We also have a yard that Sophie can play in. We have a small lake that starts at the back of our lot so we'll definitely be putting up a fence in 2006 so that Sophie doesn't run out into the lake =)! We live in a nice neighborhood about 5 miles from the beach and 5 miles from Daddy's work.

1st Halloween

Sophie dressed up as a cute little flower for Halloween. Mommy and Daddy took her to visit a few neighbors and friends. Her parents took care of her candy for her this year so that she didn't get a sugar high =).

Later, Sophie hung out with Daddy and Raggedy Ann.

Sophie 4-6 months old

Sophie enjoys spending time in her Exersaucer. Plus, it allows her Mommy and Daddy to do things and know that she's safe. =)

Sophie has just started eating cereal (mid October) which she wasn't too sure about at first. She is also getting up on all fours now so she's almost ready to crawl. Sophie has been scooting around on her tummy for a while now. Her mommy is going to be very busy if she starts crawling about the time we move in a few weeks. She loves getting into Daddy's newspaper! Overall, Sophie is really happy and a lot of fun!

We were house-hunting in Charleston, SC at the beginning of October. We will be moving down there for Matt's job the week of Nov 7-11. We bought a nice house down there that we should enjoy. Before our Charleston trip, we visited Nashville for several days. Sophie has gotten to spend quality time with both sets of grandparents recently!

Paula and Sophie

Sophie enjoys taking baths. She is about 3 or 3 1/2 months old here. Paula & Sophie are enjoying smiling at each other and making faces in the mirror. Sophie is generally a happy baby. When Sophie was 3 months old, she took her first trip on an airplane to Nashville to visit Nana and Pappy (Paula'a parents), her aunt and uncle and many extended family members. She did very well on her first flight!

Sophie at 2 months old

Sophie already has a terrific smile! Here she is propped up with pillows. At this point, she's already been to the National Zoo, visited the National Mall, and visited her Grandma and Grandpa Vergne in Richmond, VA. Sophie was not impressed by the animals at the National Zoo (she slept the entire time). At Sophie's 2 month check-up she weighed almost 12 pounds and was 23 1/2 inches tall. She was in the 90th percentile for height and 75th for weight. This was a great deal of growth since her two week visit!
