Revisiting Sophie's birth

Sophie was born at 10:22 A.M. on May 1, 2005 in Rockville, MD. It was a joyous occasion with both sets of grandparents present at the hospital when Sophie was born! She had a full head of red hair. Although Sophie was born 2 weeks early, she was 7 pounds 3 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. Paula & Sophie came home from the hospital on May 3 and Sophie's Nana stayed for a week after Sophie's birth. It was fairly cold on the day she came home. The high temperature was 40 degrees.

It took several tries to get a good picture of Sophie in her dress for birth announcements. We tried to get her to smile. She kept falling asleep.

Sophie and family in Gaithersburg, MD. It turned out to be a great bonus that we lived in a condo building with a balcony overlooking a busy highway because the sound of traffic was music to Sophie's ears =). It worked like a charm in putting her to sleep which was a lifesaver for her Mommy and Daddy.

Both sets of Sophie's grandparents and aunts and uncle came to visit many times over the summer and in the fall which was great. Sophie was growing so fast during this time.
